I'm really exited 'coz we are going to be staying at our friends farm in Newcastle for a week Grin. We'll be going on Monday. I can't wait becauze their farm is full of horses and lovely trails which I can't wait to explore on horseback.
Okay, I'm going to stop starting new topics till someone else does. I don't want to hog all the space....

Oh, you can start as many topics as you like, I don't mind. I just wish we could get some more people to come and join in.

Funny thing happened today. Me and a friend rode out and along the way her horse, Aquarius, started sniffing the ground and seemed excited by what ever he was smelling. After not being able to figure out what he was sniffing, I started walking ahead with Frosty, but my friend had a real battle to get Aquarius to get going again and he is normally very obedient.

It was just a peace of open dirt along the path. Nothing growing and nothing of interest that I could see. Have no idea why he did that. It was the first time we took that root, we must actually ride that way again and see if he does it again.

Maybe he could smell a wild animal, a predetor perhaps, which got him exited or scared? It's sounds a bit strange though - like a dog.

I know this forum is growing a bit slowly but you just have to be patient and it won't be long before there will be lots of active members Smiley. But I guess you couldn't compare this forum with another one considering the fact that a lot of South African horse-owners do not have access to the Internet.

Yes, that is true, but it is going to change. I think in the future every South African, rich or poor, will have access to the internet and probably sooner than we'd think. Only thing is most business people don't yet realize the importance of the internet for marketing. If I'm looking to buy a product or service or what ever I first look on the net before I look anywhere else, but many places just put their contact details on their website and no other information. What a waste.

Sorry, got side tracked there and went off topic. Can't imagine it being a predator that he smelled, we are like 3km from town, close to a busy road, lots of people around. I was thinking maybe he was smelling a mare, but he's a gelding, he shouldn't be that interested.  Shocked

Anyway, hope you have a fabulous time on your friends farm. You can come tell all about it when you get back.
